Deadball: 1909Publisher: W.M. Akers

and quot;Breezy fun and hellip;. [Deadball] captures the spirit and feel of the sport. and quot;

and mdash;Baseball Prospectus

Inspired by the gritty baseball of the early 1900s, Deadball: 1909 is a lightning-fast game for one or two players that uses real stats to bring the ballpark to your tabletop. It is a standalone expansion to the bestselling Deadball: Baseball With Dice. You do not need the original game to play.

This expansion takes and nbsp;Deadball back to an era when home runs were rare, scores were low, pitchers were demigods and the stolen base was king. Featuring new rules for the hit-and-run, the suicide squeeze, and enviornmental factors such as low light and bad balls, and nbsp;Deadball: 1909 is faster, dirtier and meaner than the original game.

As always, and nbsp;Deadball and nbsp;uses real statistics that every fan knows and understands, like batting average and ERA, allowing new players to pick it up in minutes. The game's rules are easy-to-learn and endlessly customizable, letting you remake the game as you see fit. and nbsp;And and nbsp;Deadball: 1909 is fully-compatible with the original and nbsp;Deadball, making it easy to pit modern players against the legends of 1909. and nbsp;

This book includes basic rules for ultra-fast play, advanced rules for a deeper game, and the complete rosters for the eight team Southern Circuit, an eight-team fictional league whose star players are truly larger-than-life. It's baseball at its rawest, right in the palm of your hand. and nbsp;

This book contains:

  • Rules for hitting, pitching, baserunning, defense, and everything else that can happen on a baseball field
  • An introduction to baseball scorekeeping
  • A random player table that allows you to roll up a new team in minutes
  • Guidelines for creating and running your own league, including rules for new prospects, high-stakes trades, catastrophic injuries and player aging
  • Detailed rosters for the legendary Southern Circuit
  • Period-appropriate photos and color illustrations
For the dead of winter, for the dead of night, for when your team is dead in the water, and nbsp;Deadball and nbsp;is there.

A NOTE ABOUT DICE: and nbsp;This book does not come with dice. You can play and nbsp;Deadball with any standard set of RPG dice (d4, d6, d8, d10, d00, d12, d20), or a dice-rolling app.

OSRPublisher: Jonah Lemkins

The Old School Revival and quot;OSR and quot; genre is unique because each version of an Old School Revival system reflects the way the creator was introduced those original fantasy rpgs. Here is my take on Old School Revival.

OSR hearkens back to the original version of D and amp;D in both style and play. If you want a nice bit of nostalgia or a tough, but fair challenge, then this system is the one for you!

Slay monsters as a warrior and become a baron! Tell tales of past miracles as a cleric and grow your following! Explore the secrets of the arcane as a magic-user and employ apprentices! Talk and steal your way to wealth as a rogue and lead a thieves guild!

Have fun in your adventures!

Weekly Wonders - Archetypes of the Ancients Volume II - El DoradoPublisher: Necromancers of the Northwest

A Golden Opportunity!

and nbsp;

Plumbing ancient ruins in search of long-forgotten secrets and the power of lost civilizations is nothing new to adventurers. Few fantasy settings are without some lost civilization from ages before, which boasted magic or technology far more advanced than anything seen today. But if you and rsquo;re going to go after mythical cities from bygone eras, you may as well go after the best of the best. Each installment of Weekly Wonders: Archetypes of the Ancients takes a single real-world mythological city, lost continent, or hidden kingdom and provides six archetypes specifically designed to invoke the themes and elements that that place is known for.

and nbsp;

This installment focuses on the infamous El Dorado, the subject of numerous real-world expeditions. At different times in history, El Dorado has referred to a man, a city, a kingdom, and eventually, even an empire, as the myth has grown with every retelling. Most famous for its fabulous wealth, the most popular myths of El Dorado cast it as a city made entirely of gold, including the buildings and even the streets, studded with glittering gemstones that people could afford to throw away as though they were nothing. This book contains the following archetypes:

and nbsp;

  • The gilded warrior, a fighter and nbsp;archetype whose skin becomes coated with a layer of protective gold.
  • The keeper of the golden light, a paladin archetype whose healing powers come from sacrificing wealth, and who can harness powerful magic light reminiscent of gold and gemstones to accomplish a variety of magical tasks.
  • The idol adherent, a ranger archetype that carries about a magic idol made of gold, that guides and protects him.
  • The balladeer of the golden city, a skald archetype that can inspire great greed in others, turn enemies to gold, and even summon ancient golden guardians of El Dorado to defend himself.
  • The aurelian witch, a witch archetype with a golden familiar, who specializes in transmuting materials to gold.
  • A bonus discipline for the aegis, from Psionics Unleashed by Dreamscarred Press, the zipa creates an astral suit not from ectoplasm, but from gold, and is a master at crafting and working with gold.

and nbsp;

Whether you're about to embark on an archaeological campaign (such as the official Paizo adventure path dealing with seeking out the secrets of a lost and ancient civilization), or you just want to play a character with a connection to the ancient past, this book has lots of tantalizing options to offer. Even GMs can get in on the fun, as several of the archetypes here are perfect for NPCs tied to mythical places as well, and can make for exciting and memorable encounters.

Royal Tournaments

Royal TournamentsPublisher: Legendary Games
Days of Wine, Roses, and Glory! and nbsp;

An iconic moment in fantasy fiction is the grand tournament. From the archery contests of Robin Hood to the jousts of Ivanhoe, it seems like half the stories about the Middle Ages have the heroes attend such a festival somewhere along the line. Whether honoring the king's birthday, the birth of a saint, the nation's victory over its enemies, or just because it's Midsummer's Day, festive pavilions are raised and flags and pennants flap in the rising breeze to signal that it is time for the main event to begin! However, even in the real-world tournaments were about far more than bows and lances, and in a fantasy game the options for what would constitute a friendly (or even not-so-friendly) competition are infinitely varied, from gritty and brutal feats of raw strength to magical marvels of the highest fantasy. You'll find athletic contests for running, riding, jumping, and more, to caber tossing, target shooting, tag-team wrestling, and armored ring races! From prosaic rural delights of a country fair to exotic events like the tower of jewels and pillars of life and death, Royal Tournaments is a fantastic resource for incorporating tournaments and festivals into your campaign, including an array of different tournament events and awards, some physical, some magical, some social, and all delightful. Whether your players want to promote the interests of their own kingdom or simply fight for glory and prizes, Royal Tournaments has everything you need to make the tournaments in your campaign magnificent and memorable. Pirate Ship Name Generator

Pirate Ship Name GeneratorPublisher: Azukail Games

This consists of two d100 tables that can be used to randomly generate names for pirate ships, or even warships, for countries that like more aggressive-sounding names for their ships. These names can be used for a pirate-themed fantasy campaign or adventure path, or for a more historical game. The names are strongly British in origin, but during the Golden Age of Piracy, and the eras preceding it, many pirates, or privateers, did hail from Britain.

The tables can be used in a number of ways, from rolling single name ships to combining both tables to using one table twice. Results should be tweaked by adding possessives, filler words or changing the order, and discarding any that don't make sense. Alternatively, results can simply be chosen manually.

This PDF supports Adobe layers and the page backgrounds can be disabled to make printing easier.

Here is a sample result from rolling on both tables: The Ebon Vampire

One page is the front cover, one the front matter and one the introduction.
